So here is another day- another post.

I love laos Laung Prabang. Quite town. Lots of backpackers here but they are all chill people. Not easy to get here. Slow boat one day or bus 12 hours from the boarder city. Town curfew at 11:30 so it keeps the nights more relaxed then having a heavy party scene. I like this.

I am sitting on the porch, cool air around me writing this post. I want to post more- I have a lot of other pictures. But the internet is slow here. Maybe I will post some "in retrospect" later.

I am also going to try to "caption" the photos a bit. Lets see how this works.

First up Laung Prabong soup. A heavy chicken stock with microgreens. Simple but refreshing and incredible.

David got the pork noodle soup. I tasted it, I was a bit jealous. Lots of pork, lots of roasted garlic. His was cheaper than mine too?

Granted, neither of our dishes was over 2 dollars US.

I am not a huge dessert man. But since traveling I have been getting cravings for sweets. This defiantly hit the spot. [--I wanted everything]

Met for Shabu Shabu with Jon, Cyndi, Cat, and David. We celebrated our friend Cat and John's birthdays. I think they both had birthdays that they will never forget.

I think Cat's face says it all. Its good.

After we were done I was still hungry. 3rd dinner- Also not shown here a nuttela and peanut butter sandwich that I ate now too.

So that was the eatings from two days ago. I am going to try uploading last night's. It may take a whole day to do it though.

I don't know where we are going next. We may try to get into Burma. Any places you think I should go from here? Let me know.

Spicy Laos

I arrived in Luang Prabang Laos at 3 o clock this morning, after about 24 hours of travel. 3rd class train- a worthy experience. 12 hour bus ride- broken down, switch to another. Taxi taxi taxi.

But the best part? What makes this all worth it, always? The food! Large italian style loaves of bread awaited us in the first bus terminal!!!! Crispy and crusty the way I love it! What is better then that?! And in the bus terminal of all places?!!? If anything in thailand that was missing is good bread. I grew up italian. You must understand, having no bread is a terrible terrible thing. if you aren't italian you might not understand. However if you are you are then you are nodding your head as you read...

The best food other then the bread i had so far was in actually on the bus trip. Simple noodles and broth. I didn't have my camera out for this one. who knew the bus would stop at such a gem of a stop. Drowsy, still half dreaming we walked out and were fed the most delicious clear broth, vermicelli rice noodles, pork balls and slices of chicken. The cost 2 dollars US. But more important worth the loss of dream time.

Went to the waterfalls today. Ate like a king. Also no food pics here. However fried bannanas here are better then in bangkok. These Kick Ass. Yes kick ass nana's. If you tried them you might cry. I almost did, then walked twenty feet and saw bears. Yeah. Black bears hanging out in a jungle gym.

Got me started singing "the bear necessities" while I ate the bannanas.

I love my life.

I did grab some other pictures of some good eats. First a simple noodle soup. That was my first dinner. Then all you can eat veggie buffet [for a buck fifty US] second dinner. Then a chicken sandwich[about another 2 bucks] on freshly baked baguette- third dinner with a double sized beer. Still off looking for dessert and maybe a fourth dinner tonight. I will post more tomorrow.

Welcome to my first food blog.

Not fully sure what this blog is going to be yet. travelog? foodie diary? Guide of some sort?

For the first time in my life I am not to going to try to figure it out, I am going to go with the flow and just let it evolve. Its not going to be perfect from the start but if it was I dont think I'd ever get it off the ground.

So here is a good example of the evolution-- I wanted to post a well composed site. Pictures along with flowery prose and simple funny anecdotes about travel. However internet where I am sucks and it took all day to upload images. Add to the fact that I actually don't know how to blog? I mean 13 year olds can figure it out, why can't I? But here I am 26 years young, baffled on how to do anything right with computers and online.

I am leaving for a spontaneous trip to Laos in 8 mins. [Still have packing to do?] but I promised myself I would post before I leave. It's raw but still enjoyable. Here are some of the photos from just yesterday's eatings.
